1 top obstacle to wider VDI adoption

- VDI requires the desktop, storage, network, virtualization and data center guys to work together.
- The nature of desktops has changed, but many IT organizations are at a standstill, unsure how to respond.
- Some people believe VDI is too costly, complex, and ineffective.
- Companies are still looking to squeeze efficiencies out of their current investments.
- VDI has been slow to promote successes.
Here is my take on this subject.
With our user base, we can generally rule out obstacles 1, 2, 4 and 5. That is, the pre-planning that we do simply results in these topics having already been addressed. Surely, these are important considerations, but when we approach VDI for one of our clients, we have surpassed these road blocks when considering VDI. Or we don't arrive at fact that a VDI solution as plausible.
